About Us
Who we are
The Tentsmuir Cycle Link campaign is a subgroup of Tayport Community Trust, the community-led development trust working for the benefit of Tayport and the surrounding area.
We are a volunteer group of local residents, cyclists, walkers and commuters. Nobody involved is paid; the research, mapping, meetings, consultation responses and this website are all done in people’s own time because we believe the route matters.
Our objective
Our objective is simple:
To build a safe, direct active travel link between Tayport and Leuchars.
Tayport and Leuchars are only a few kilometres apart, but today there is no safe way to travel between them by bike or on foot. The options are a narrow, busy road or a long detour on forest tracks. A direct, segregated route would close the last gap in the active travel network between Dundee and St Andrews, and open up Tentsmuir Forest and the coast to far more people.
You can read more about the proposed route on our map page, and about what the link would mean for the area on our benefits page.
